The obvious and clear reality that Christ from scripture requests a type of profound affection focused on the impoverished has consistently rendered the Christian faith somewhat of a provocative belief system: attractive to the general public, but because of its natural unconventionality requiring to be contained. In the 1950s it was restrained by dilution – Protestant Christianity was so dominant that it basically blessed current circumstances.
